In the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, there has been widespread anxiety about a "mysterious disease" since late last December, when residents were attacked by dizziness, cramps and nausea, but the cause has not been investigated. However, it is said that there is no relationship with the new coronavirus, according to reports such as Daily India.

On the other hand, it is said that lead and nickel particles were detected from the sample collected from the hospitalized patient. Since the case report is spreading mainly in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, the Indian government is sending medical experts to Eluru to investigate the cause.

Although the cause is not known at this time, the state government seems to have taken steps to stop the supply of water to Eluru, a town with a population of about 200,000, because of the detection of lead and other products.

On the other hand, the state government believes that dumped used batteries may have adversely affected water quality, and is investigating its relevance. If high levels of lead enter human blood, it will cause significant damage to the brain, heart, and nervous system, so further findings are expected in the future.
